Workshop just for Circle Members!

The plants and wildlife found in Filoli’s summer Garden are the subjects of this introductory workshop. Nature Journaling will help you improve your observational skills, drawing skills, and knowledge about your subject. Learn to draw plant structures, observe, and question their relationships to other living things. You will practice drawing, layout, and lettering to enhance your pages.

Includes entrance to Filoli during Summer Nights, wine by Gratus Vineyards, light snacks, and all the supplies you'll need to create at Filoli and beyond.

About the Instructor

Mary-Ellen Campbell is Professor Emerita from New Jersey City University where she taught for thirty-four years. She has taught workshops locally, nationally, and internationally. Mary-Ellen is a world traveler and uses her journals to capture scenes and peoples in exotic locales. Book arts is one of her specialties and she has made most of her journals and books during twelve artist residencies and trips to over seventy five countries. 

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations up to 2 weeks prior to a program are subject to a 25% cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 2 weeks prior to a program are non-refundable. Filoli does not issue credits for future programs.

Gratus Vineyards is a family-owned and operated vineyard and botanical arboretum located in the Pope Valley, sandwiched between the Howell Mountain and Chiles Valley sub-AVAs of the Napa Valley. It was founded in 2005 by Dr. Wargovich and his wife, Victoria, who purchased their 27-acre property in 2001.
