Eater SF: 10 Cozy Afternoon Teas to Sip During the Holidays
Excerpt: Built in 1915 by gold mine owners, Filoli is a historic house and garden tucked away on 125 serene acres. Much like with English country homes, a wander through the garden isn’t complete without a restorative cup of tea at the end, complete with sandwiches, scones, clotted cream, and tart cherry jam. They aren’t doing their wildly popular holiday teas this year, but it is still possible to get a ticket to see the gardens, and have a more casual “tea for two” in the Quail’s Nest Cafe, which includes a pot of tea and two sweets, choosing between a macaron, mini chocolate cake, and lemon meringue tartlet.
