Filoli Announces Open Search for New Board Members
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Woodside, CA, May 30, 2024 —
Filoli Historic House & Garden seeks visionary new board members who will expand Filoli’s community representation, ensure a balance of leadership, and set a standard for continued excellence. For the first time, Filoli’s board of directors is partnering with a professional search firm for an Open Call for Nominations to ensure that the board is reflective of the community.
Filoli’s Board Members are instrumental in contributing to the strategic goals, leveraging their connections to expand the organization’s network of changemakers, and connecting Filoli to vital resources to invest in the vision for the future. New Board Members will be crucial in seizing opportunities for growth and impact. From confronting the impacts of climate change to increasing equitable access to outdoor space and fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion, new board members will shape the future of Filoli as a critical community resource.
Filoli seeks Board Members who will represent, embrace, and serve as leaders in amplifying its fundamental commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that diverse communities experience a deep connection to the beauty of Filoli. “Filoli serves the diverse population of the San Francisco Bay Area and beyond. As we continue to grow our Board, both in sophistication and in diversity, we seek board members who bring the unique voices of their communities to help build a new future for Filoli,” says Sydney Leung, Board Vice Chair.
In 2024, Filoli launched a new strategic vision and will be implementing a new Comprehensive Site Plan to allow guests even more access to House, Garden, Orchards, and Nature. “Filoli’s vision for the future is bold, creating a center for the community and a California destination for the Bay Area. We want to reach broadly into the community to ensure we have leaders who help us connect our rich history with a vibrant future,” says Kara Newport, Filoli President & CEO.
