Nest: Creating Home
Our Summer season marks the start of Nest: Creating Home, a three-part exhibition about the people, plants and animals that have created a home in the Filoli estate. Nest features leading American landscape designer and environmental artist W. Gary Smith, with an exhibition that uses elements found through ought the Garden and Nature Preserve in Nests: Patterns from Nature. At the Visitor and Education Center, you will find American Women: Birds of im/Migration, an exhibition by Santa Cruz-based artist, Sara Friedlander. To compliment these exhibitions, the House and Garden feature new interpretive stories with The People of Filoli, a journey through some of the stories of the people that helped run this estate.
The traditional Jazz at Filoli come back this season to delight new and loyal audiences alike. The successful Summer Nights returns for its second edition with extended hours, themed nights, music, lectures, wine and fruit tasting opportunities to enjoy more of what makes Filoli THE destination for the Summer.
Every Thursday evening through August 29, we extend our hours until 8pm. We’ve planned special activities, entertainment and educational opportunities with something special for our members included each week. Plus, members can bring one guest for FREE after 5pm!
Unless otherwise noted, Summer Nights activities are drop-in, held from 5-8pm, and free with general admission to Filoli. The Estate Trail, Dining Room Terrace bar, and Quail Nest Cafe are open every Summer Night. The House is open until 7pm.
