Youth Programs

Filoli’s youth programs transform this unique landscape into a living classroom by inviting local students to claim their place of belonging within cultural institutions and the great outdoors. Field trips bring underserved students into nature, while paid internships create pathways for teens and young adults to pursue careers in museums and horticulture.

Recent donor funding has allowed our Collections team to restore the Ballroom’s splendor, conserve a centuries-old artwork, and re-acquire a long-lost treasure. Your support unlocks the preservation projects that ensure future generations can learn from and enjoy this national treasure.

Nature Programs

The Filoli estate encompasses 654 acres of oak woodland, redwood forest, chaparral, grasslands, and precious waterways. Donor support fuels land stewardship and biodiversity protection, and provides opportunities for people of all ages to connect with nature.

Thanks to your support, 1.5 miles of public hiking trails (with approximately 11 more miles in development) are open for visitors to wander, while deer, quails, woodpeckers, banana slugs, newts enjoy Filoli as their home. Rose Wonders, our giant resident Troll, and the children’s Nature Playspace were introduced in 2025, with exciting new programs being dreamed up for the future!

Increasing Access

From welcoming schoolchildren seeing a redwood forest for the first time to providing inclusive access programs for Bay Area communities, Filoli’s mission comes alive through the generosity of donors who believe that beauty, history, and shared stories should be enjoyed by all.

Family for All memberships for SNAP EBT cardholders have increased 230% over last year, helping more in our community enjoy all that Filoli has to offer.
