Trails
Filoli currently has two hiking trails. The one-mile California Trail winds along cultivated fields and through oak woodlands. The Spring Creek Trail, opened to the public in June 2024, takes visitors on a half-mile loop along a scenic creek bed running through redwood understory.
By the Numbers
California Trail
Wander through oak woodlands
Easy, 1-mile loop, 50 ft. elevation gain
The California Trail is a one-mile loop that takes you through the fields, across the San Andreas Fault, and to Red’s Barn, where the Roth family housed their prized horses.
Spring Creek Trail
Hike along a creek through redwoods.
Moderate, 1/2 mile loop, 125 ft. elevation gain
The Spring Creek loop starts at the midway point of the one-mile nature trail right next to the Lamchin Interpretive Center. Visitors follow the story of water as they hike along a scenic creek bed and historic flume, a water infrastructure built over 100 years ago by William Bourn, the industrialist who constructed Filoli.
