Autumn's air has now cooled down just enough to welcome Holidays to Filoli! We hope to see you for more fall festivities next year!

Fall Blooms

Wander through the Woodland Garden, where Japanese Maples have created a red and orange canopy of fall leaves.
Marigolds are in bloom throughout the Vegetable and Cutting Gardens. Their petals are edible with a citrusy, peppery taste. Their tall, sturdy stems and bold colorful appearance make for excellent cut flowers.
Pumpkin and Squash are bursting out of their beds! There are several varieties of Summer and Winter Squash making their home in the Vegetable Garden.
Pink and white Begonias frame the roses in the Chartres Garden beds. Did you know that Begonias have separate male and female flowers that are borne on the same plant?
Though considered a classic English garden plant, Hollyhock originated in China. Spot these towering flower spikes in the Walled Garden.
The 100-year-old dwarf Pomegranate shrubs are providing their seasonal fall color along the back of the House!
Many of the summer crops in the Vegetable Garden have already been harvested, but Tomatoes in all shades are still hanging heavy on their vines.
The beautiful 'Fama Deep Blue' variety of Perennial Scabiosa adds rich color to the Cutting Garden cages.
Fuzzy, tube-shaped orange flowers give the Lion's Ear (or Leonotis leonurus) plant its name. Native to South Africa, it is a striking feature in the water-wise Sunken Garden.
The first Camellias of the season are opening, including the white Sasanqua Camellia 'Narumi-Gata' in the Walled Garden.
Throughout the month, the fan-shaped leaves of the Ginkgo trees will turn golden yellow, bringing gorgeous fall color to the Walled Garden.
The Peach and other stone fruit trees in the Garden Orchard are showing their very best fall colors.
