Head to Filoli any Thursday evening for a summer meet up with friends. Stroll the Garden, grab a refreshing drink, and watch the sun set across the landscape.

On August 18 and September 8 from 5-7:30pm, stop by the Bay Area Water Supply & Conservation Agency (BAWSCA) table in the Olive Grove to learn how to save water at home! They’ll be handing out fun freebies and answering all your water-wise questions.

Important information for member summer nights tickets

Summer Nights member tickets are available for Thursdays through August; sellouts are expected and limited tickets are available. Additional member tickets are added every Tuesday for the upcoming Thursday night.
Members receive a monthly email with information on Summer Nights tickets and other seasonal offerings for the following month. Stay tuned for information on Summer Nights member tickets for September.

Enjoy live traditional Irish session music at the Pool Pavilion from 5:30-7:30pm each evening.

Bluebird Bar

Open until 7:30pm

The Bluebird Bar offers a respite from the summer heat with Margaritas, a Mint Limeade Sunken Garden Sipper, and a selection of wines and beers.
Cochinita Food Truck

5-7:30pm

The Cochinita food truck serves delicious tacos, burritos, fried plantains and more. Service starts at 5pm and goes until 7:30pm.
Please note: picnics with outside food must be eaten at the picnic area under the oak trees by the Main Parking Lot.

Flower Stripes Sunflower
Dahlias are popping up in the Cutting Garden! The colorful flowers are native to Central and North America and were cultivated by the Aztecs.
The Rose Garden is in full bloom! Wander through and pick your favorite scent - or favorite flower name. Can you spot the Betty White rose, or the Fourth of July rose?
'Cheyenne Spirit' coneflowers create a carpet of vibrant hues beneath the roses in the Chartres Cathedral Garden. Native to the prairies in the eastern half of the U.S., coneflowers are perfect to bring late-summer color to your garden.
The Sunken Garden is transformed with a low-water mix of succulents! Look out for beautiful potted blue agave and spiky cacti.
Water lilies are blooming in the Sunken Garden pond. On a warm day, dragonflies dance above the water and frog song fills the air.
Look inside the Garden House for the elegant, drooping fuchsia blossoms that inspired the name of the vivid pink-purple color. Did you know fuchsia plants also produce edible berries?
You'll find many different colors of salvia (aka sage) throughout the Garden. Part of the mint family, their tubular flowers attract pollinators and their leaves have a signature strong aroma.
The perennial border runs along the laurel cherry hedge and contains lavender, smoke bush, roses, purple top vervain, and more!
The yellow “Full Moon Rising” rose that climbs along the side of the Panel Garden cage is a mutation of the pink “Polka” variety. It was chosen for Filoli due to its disease resistance and fragrance.
Look for hydrangeas near the Woodland Garden gate. Did you know some hydrangea flowers can change color based on the amount of aluminum in the soil?
Catch bees buzzing in the English lavender in the Panel Garden, which dates back to the Bourn era. The Knot Garden features the deep blue ‘Hidcote’ lavender.

Though considered a classic English garden plant, hollyhock originated in China! Spot these towering flower spikes in the Walled Garden.
Look for pink blossoms high up on the rhododendrons in the Woodland Garden. There are about 1000 different species of rhododendron in the world!

  • Online advanced tickets are required for all visitors, including members 
  • Summer Nights ticket holders may enter Filoli starting at 5pm
  • You are welcome to take personal photography within these photography guidelines
  • Food purchased from Cochinita on Summer Nights may be eaten in the Grove; all outside food must be eaten in the picnic area

Visitor Information

  • The Estate Trail Closes at 7pm
  • The Café is open from 10am - 7:30pm
  • Filoli closes and clears the property at 8pm
  • Unvaccinated visitors are required to wear masks indoors
  • Download or print Filoli's map if you'd like to reference it during your visit
  • Picnics with outside food are allowed only in the picnic area
