October 1-2

From bees to butterflies, celebrate the pollinators that keep this Orchard fruitful.

California Pollinators

October 8-10

California produces two-thirds of the nation’s fruits and nuts! Come learn about local agricultural production while surrounded by Filoli’s own fruit trees and grapevines.

Harvest Celebrations

October 15-16

As the final apples fall from Filoli’s trees, learn about the many joyful ways that cultures around the world celebrate the harvest season!

Community Partners:

  • Sukkot: Learn about the Jewish harvest festival of Sukkot at Filoli’s own sukkah, with craft activities led by the Peninsula Jewish Community Center.
  • Diwali: Local nonprofit Colorful Minds empowers artists living with disabilities throughout the world, and joins us to share information about Diwali,
    the Festival of Light.
  • Mehregan: Learn about the Persian fall festival that celebrates the autumn equinox.
  • Mid-Autumn Festival: Artist Ming Lee hosts an interactive watercolor brushwork demo, celebrating some of the themes of the Mid-Autumn festival.

Musical Performance: Klezmer with Asaf Ophir and Zina Pozen, 10am-12pm on Sunday, Oct. 16 at the Walnut Grove Stage

Storytime: At 11am at the Walnut Grove stage, join us for Harvest Celebration Storytime, where we share children’s stories about Sukkot, Diwali, and Mehregan.

Pumpkins!

October 22-23

You can’t have an orchard without apples, and you can’t have fall without pumpkins! Browse pumpkin-inspired art and snap a fun fall photo with the whole family.

Spooky Creatures of the Orchard

October 29-30

Get in the spirit of Halloween by learning about the creatures that roam the Orchard at night – from bats to mountain lions!

Music: Wildcat Mountain Ramblers, 1-3pm

About Filoli's Orchard

The Gentleman’s Orchard at Filoli is over 100 years old. Today, it holds more than 600 apple, pear, plum, apricot, walnut, fig, and quince trees. Filoli continues to preserve this historic collection that includes rare and historically significant varieties. See them all at Orchard Days this fall!
