Join us for a fun and fascinating fungi-themed weekend! Dive into the world of mushrooms with hands-on Citizen Science activities, interactive and educational displays from local mushroom societies, mushroom-themed Stories in Bloom program, a fungi-inspired art gallery, and self-guided activities for children.

Cost: Free with Filoli admission; Reservation required.

Meander through Filoli’s Natural Lands to spot and learn about mushrooms, fungi, lichen, and mosses. Expert guides will lead guests on a walking journey on and off the beaten path to showcase where these treasures are found.

Service Learning: Recording Filoli's Mushrooms

Saturday & Sunday | 9am–12pm

Filoli’s Service Learning is a chance for the local community to give back to the Historic Estate. Join Filoli’s Horticulture Team as they get a head start on spring cleaning by weeding and mulching the Formal Garden. Through guided instruction by a Filoli expert, volunteers will learn new tips and tricks for cleaning their own garden at home.

Stories in Bloom: Fabulous Fungi

The popular series Stories in Bloom showcases storytelling of all forms, including poetry, music, and photography. Through this program, we explore a range of topics and encourage guests to share their perspectives through a Q&A. Filoli’s winter program will dive into the world of fungi. In our Stories in Bloom Mushrooms edition, we will explore the endless variety of fungi and all that it does for the environment with a Mushroom expert!
