MULTI-DAY CLASS: Thursdays, March 14, 28, 9:30am – 4:00pm, April 11, 9:30am – 12:30pm
This beginning course serves as the foundation for painting in watercolor – the traditional medium of botanical art. It covers the basic materials such as papers, brushes, and paints. Learn techniques through exercises using different washes and application of paint on wet and dry paper. Dry brush work used for accuracy and detail is covered. Apply these methods to basic plant forms as you develop your skills.
Prerequisite: Drawing I (formerly Drawing Plants in Perspective) or equivalent experience
This is a required class for the Botanical Art Certificate program. Students enrolled in the Botanical Art Certificate Program are given homework assignments each session.
Cancellation Policy: Cancellations up to 2-weeks prior to a class are subject to a 25% cancellation fee. Cancellations less than 2-weeks prior to a class are non-refundable. Filoli does not issue credits for future classes.
