Veteran’s Day

11/11/2018 @ 10:00am – 5:00pm

November 11 is the 100th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice that ended hostilities in World War I. In the war, 116,516 Americans died and over 200,000 were wounded.  The Bourn’s were heavily involved in the war effort and both Agnes and William Bourn received the silver medal of la Reconnaissance Française.  These medals were created to express gratitude by the French government to all those who, without legal or military obligation, had come to the aid of the injured, disabled, refugees, or who had performed an act of exceptional dedication in the presence of the enemy during the First World War.
