Private Gardens of the Bay Area

The Garden Conservancy and Filoli are happy to welcome authors Susan Lowry, Nancy Berner, and landscape photographer Marion Brenner to discuss their new book Private Gardens of the Bay Area, (October 2017, The Monacelli Press).  This book captures 39 diverse gardens on the Peninsula, in San Francisco itself and in the Marin/Sonoma/Napa region whose designs are by such noted landscape architects as Andrea Cochran, Ron Lutsko, Surfacedesign. Bernard Trainer, Ron Herman, Roger Warner, Eric and Silvia Blasen, John Greenlee and Lawrence Halprin. Landscape designer Bernard Trainor will moderate a discussion with the authors and photographer who will share their photos of the gardens of the Bay Area and talk about the state of private gardens in the region.

The lecture begins at 3:00 pm in the Visitor and Education Center.
Refreshments available upon purchase. Your ticket will allow you access to the House and Garden.  Please plan your visit to allow time to enjoy the House and Garden prior to the lecture.
