Ikebana: Introduction to Moribana

This class has changed to a 1-day class.

Ikebana, Japanese flower arranging, is noted for perfect proportions and dramatic use of negative space. The world’s top floral designers recognize that a command of Ikebana design principles results in better, more sculptural design work. In this course, you will be introduced to these principles by creating arrangements in flat, shallow moribana containers. Learn about line, mass, dimension and asymmetry, as well as techniques for successfully using a pin frog. Students are invited to take home their arrangement.

The class fee includes floral materials only. Students are asked to bring a container and pin frog. See the materials list for details.

Cancellation Policy: Cancellations up to 2-weeks prior to a class are subject to a 25% cancellation fee.  Cancellations less than 2-weeks prior to a class are non-refundable.  Filoli does not issue credits for future classes.
