Filoli is open for the 2008 tour season. If you have any questions or would like to make reservations for guided tours during the 2008 season, please contact Filoli's Visitor Services at 650 364-8300, extension 507. Thank you.

Bicyclists are welcome, parking available adjacent to the parking lot.

Students $5 (ages 5-17 or with valid student ID)
Free for children under 5.

Admission includes an all-day self-guided tour or either a guided tour or nature hike combined with a self-guided tour before of after. See below for tour information. In order to patronize the Garden Shop and/or Café at Filoli, all visitors must pay the admission fee prior to entry.

Filoli is wheelchair accessible in both the house and gardens; however, wheelchairs are not available for rental. Please inquire at Visitor Services for a map outlining the best tour route for wheelchairs.

Filoli is a private property of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Please help us maintain Filoli's beauty for all visitors by observing the following visitor etiquette which must be observed once you enter the property from Cañada Rd.

  • Only service dogs are allowed on the grounds of Filoli. No other animals are allowed. If you enter the grounds with an animal you will be asked to leave.
  • No picnic baskets, coolers, bags or food of any kind is to be brought in and consumed on the grounds. The Café at Filoli is open from 9:30-3:30 to serve visitors. Please visit www.eparks.net for suggestions of local parks.
  • No smoking is allowed.
  • Please keep to designated walking areas and observe signs and cordoned off areas where horticulture work may be in progress.
  • Filoli is a historic garden. You may encounter natural hazards such as tree roots, uneven ground or gravel paths. Please be aware of your surroundings and watch your footing.

Tours
Guided House & Garden Tours are available, by reservation, during the open season. This is a two-hour docent led tour through both the house and gardens. Contact Visitor Services for tour times and to make tour reservations.

Self-guided tours are offered during the open season. No reservations are required. A map is available for your self-guided tour and volunteers are posted in both the house and garden to answer questions. There is also a continuous 14 minute video on the history of Filoli in the Visitor and Education Center.

Camellia Tours
Thursdays, March 6, 13, 20, and 27 and Saturdays, March 8, 15 and 29 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Explore Filoli’s stunning camellias on this docent led tour. Learn why camellias are so well suited to the Bay Area, how to identify different types and a bit about the plants’ interesting history. To make reservations contact Visitor Services.

Nature Hikes
Did you know that Filoli’s Nature Preserve has more than seven miles of trails crisscrossing six different types of native California habitats? Join experienced Nature Education Docents on a guided hike along some of these well-maintained trails for a 2 1/2 hour hike. Visitors taking a nature hike pay the admission to Filoli, which also includes access to the House and Garden. Nature Hikes are scheduled on Saturday mornings, February through October (except August) starting at 10:00 am. Contact Visitor Services to make reservations.

Orchard Tours
Thursdays and Saturdays, June through October, 10:30 am – 12:00 pm
Tour our unique heirloom orchard and learn about the tradition of the gentleman's orchard and how Filoli is conserving not only the rare fruits, but also this defining landscape feature of our country estate. Contact Visitor Services to make reservations.

Cutting Garden Tours
Tours will return in 2009!
The Filoli Flower Arrangers provide up to 20 fresh arrangements throughout the house at any given time. All of these spectacular flowers come from Filoli’s classic and contemporary cutting gardens. Learn more about our floral resources, as well as growing, cutting and conditioning tips from our trained Cutting Garden Docents. These tours are part of a special week-long celebration of plants and flowers, Flowers in the Home.

Garden Shop at Filoli
The Garden Shop is Open Tuesday through Saturday, 10:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; Sunday, 12:00 Noon-3:30 p.m.
There is a wonderful array of beautiful items for the home and garden including a selection of gardening books, supplies, plants, and seeds. Stop in to look around before or after your tour. The gift shop is located under the clock tower.

Café at Filoli
Open Tuesday through Saturday, 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m.; Sunday, 11:00 a.m.-3:30 p.m.
Waiting to take a tour? Or perhaps you have finished your tour and just want to relax, soak up the wonderful atmosphere, listen to the birds, or watch the deer grazing nearby. Visit the Cafe at Filoli and enjoy delicious sandwiches, salads, soups, quiche, and paninis for lunch, or sip on an espresso or cup of tea with one of our tasty treats. Box lunches for groups of 5-25 may be ordered in advance.

A Children's Fine Par-Tea NEW!
Mothers, Grandmothers, Aunties! On Saturday, August 9 at 1:00 p.m. join your favorite child and share a special afternoon of delectable delights and fun activities. Teas are not recommended for children under 6 years of age.

Price: $30 adult members; $40 adult non-members; $25 children 6 to12 years of age and includes general admission to the House and Garden.

Reservations are necessary and can be made by phone. Please call 650 364-8300, extension 288 to make your reservation. Mark your calendar. Teas are a ticket-less event and are non-refundable and non-exchangeable.


Afternoon Tea at Filoli
Please note that all 2008 Afternoon Teas at Filoli are SOLD OUT. We will begin taking reservations for 2009 Teas on Friday, January 2, 2009. Plan to join us for A Children's Fine Par-Tea on Saturday, August 9, 2008.

Artist and Photographers
Cameras and video cameras are always welcome in the House and Garden however we ask that the following rules are observed while visiting Filoli:

  • No wedding photography or private photo shoots.
  • Tripods, easels and paints are allowed ONLY after hours on Artist Access Days.
  • No oils or acrylics may be used.
