California Dreaming
A Fine Art Photography Exhibition
Tuesday, June 3 through Sunday, June 29

California has been a destination for dreamers over the centuries. Its draw has been the abundance of natural resources that nurtured many prosperous early California cultures: the Spanish rancheros and missions, the land and homesteads sought by the westward migration, the quest for gold and wealth, the lure of Hollywood. Dreamers from every continent arrived to make a home, including the Bourn and Roth families.

This exhibit, featuring talented and creative photographers, provides an opportunity for visitors to step into the past and get a vision of the now.

Meet the Artists Day
Saturday, June 14, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Discover what inspired these accomplished photographers and the subjects captured through their lenses. Learn about their processes, view more work and sip light refreshments. Reservations are not necessary to enjoy this special day.

Meet the Artists Day
Saturday, August 16, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Would you like to meet these talented students? Here’s your chance. Students, parents and teachers will be on hand this day to share their experiences, portfolios and other completed works. Refreshments and treats will complement this fun and enriching day.

Architectural grandeur, horticultural wonders, marvelous amusements and amazing technology! The Panama-Pacific International Exposition of 1915 was California’s most lavish event of the early 20th century. For San Francisco and the neighboring Peninsula, it was surely the quintessential high society gala of all times. Crafted and executed by people of prominence – William H. Crocker, Harriett Pullman Carolan, William Bourn, Bernard Maybeck, Willis Polk and scores of others — it was a year-long extravaganza celebrating the opening of the Panama Canal. For San Franciscans, it was a gala coming-out party, commemorating the city’s renaissance following the earthquake and fire of 1906. The world converged on Exposition City. Join them! Experience a virtual vacation to yesteryear. Lavishly-illustrated presentations are fascinating and entertaining. This is definitely a series not to be missed.

Susan Rosner and Natalie Kulukundis, Fotomentours

Susan Rosner www.susanrosner.com
Susan Rosner specializes in architectural and portrait photography and has worked more than a decade as a commercial photographer. Her images of people and places demonstrate a strong sense of design and character. Her work has been showcased in exhibits featuring Portraits and Interviews, including shows in New York City and the Bay Area. Rosner’s photographs have appeared in View Camera Magazine, Camera Arts Magazine, National Kitchen & Bath, & InDesign. Her fine art prints of landscapes, people and places are sold through her website and through selective arrangements with private galleries. She is currently working on a book photographing historic properties and their gardens in the South.

Ms. Rosner became a photographer after completing a 15 year career as a project manager in banking and a 5 year tour as Academic Dean of a French Graduate School, Institut Superieure de Gestion, Paris, France, where she managed a staff of 15 teachers, 650 students and taught strategic planning and marketing. Rosner is an avid recreational athlete.

Photography is her passion. She is passion driven.

Natalie Kulukundis www.natasphotos.com
Natalie’s passion for photography began at age 12 when she won a camera at an expo in New York. Her interest was sparked and her path defined. Photography grew from a calling to her passion and profession.

Natalie believes it is important not just to use the camera to take snapshots of places where she has been or of things she has seen. Using her camera as an important tool, Natalie captures those decisive moments: the play of light and shadow, the contrast of colors in a landscape, a bee visiting a flower, animals snuggling up together. She creates images and moods, which arise as she concentrates on the subject at hand. She believes that the aim of Photography is not to simply take a picture, but to make people feel that they are actually there experiencing that moment or place in time. Looking at Natalie’s work, you’re there -- standing in the middle of the landscape, smelling the fragrance of flowers.

Natalie’s professional work includes photographing portraits, weddings and events, and architecture. She held a photography internship at the Oakland Zoo. She completed Golden Gate School of Photography’s Fundamentals of Professional Photography and the Rocky Mountain School of Photography’s Summer Intensive Program in Professional Photography. She continues to travel, study and refine her skills and techniques.

Susan and Natalie are the founders of Fotomentours. For more information about Fotomentours please visit their web site at www.fotomentours.com
