March 2017 Calendar
Through Sunday, April 2 — Historic Garden photographs from Filoli’s permanent collection will be on display in the Visitor and Education Center.
New dates this year: June 1 – 4 — We encourage professional designers, retailers, experienced amateur flower arrangers and garden club members to participate in this year’s show. Join us to interpret our theme: “Time Began in a Garden.”
Ballroom Cultural Series—
SILENT FILM FEATURE, Thursday, March 2 — Enjoy the magic of the silent films presented in traditional form with a live pianist.
March 11 and 25 — Join experienced docents on a guided, two–hour hike along well–maintained trails and learn about the natural environment and wildlife that make Filoli their home.
Saturday, March 4 — Please join us on a discovery excursion along the hills at Filoli to try to spot some of the more than 350 different fungi that have been identified.
Sunday, March 5 — Every year the California Newt travels several miles during migration. They have a special homing ability that allows them to return to the place they were born. Take a guided hike to see Newts and the Filoli pond and learn more about these fascinating woodland creatures.
Garden Lecture Series— A Member Benefit
THE CULTURE OF TULIPS, Thursday, March 16 — Photojournalist and international speaker, Angela Neal Grove will speak about the culture of tulips. The garden will be open from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Thursday, March 23 — Artists and photographers who register may have individual access to the Garden after hours to create landscape paintings, drawings and photographs. Models, wedding and engagement photos, family portraits or any other professional photography is not permitted.
Wednesday, March 22 — Enjoy delicious sandwiches, seasonal salads, scones with fresh lemon curd and pastries in the relaxing and gracious ambiance at Filoli. Make your reservation beginning at 9:00 am on Monday, January 23.
